CEMETERY COMMISSIONERS MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 6, 2002
PRESENT: Herman E. Hasenjager, Robert E. Pease, Julian E. Szarlan, Paul B. Lovell, John R. Nothe and Gaylin Bingle.
Due to not enough Commissioners in attendance, the meeting of August 2, 2002 was not held.
Mr. Hasenjager called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the clerk and accepted with a motion by Mr. Szarlan and seconded by Mr. Pease.
OLD BUSINESS:
There wasn’t any old business carried over at this meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
Fence at North Main Street Cemetery – Paul said he would like to stop using wood for the fence and start using chain link. The gate will be repaired using 6 X 6 posts. Paul said he was going to leave the gate off temporarily as it is always getting left open.
Increased Costs for Undertaker Late Charges – The costs are too low for the late fees for undertakers coming in and they don’t mind paying it rather than abide by the rules. Paul would like to increase the fees high enough to discourage the undertakers from paying the fees so they are in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Mr. Szarlan suggested Paul find out what the Palmer Cemetery charges.
Cemetery Funds – A discussion took place as to what account cemetery funds are being put into.
Mr. Szarlan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Hasenjager seconded the motion.
Respectfully Submitted,
Gaylin Bingle
Clerk
